About Wesley House
Wesley House, our most historic property, dates back to the 15th century and is situated on the picturesque cobblestone Fish Street. John Wesley founder of the Methodist church preached from here in 1763 giving the property this name. After falling into disrepair, the cottage underwent meticulous restoration in 2019, returning it to its former glory. During the renovation, the original cast iron range, discovered behind a stud wall, was carefully preserved and is now proudly displayed for all to admire. The property features a cozy log burner and oak-paneled walls that exude a sense of history. Notably, Fish Street served as a filming location for the renowned 1984 film "A Christmas Carol," starring George C. Scott. The property comfortably accommodates up to four adults, with one double bed, two single beds, and a small Victorian single bed suitable for children under five feet two inches in height.
