The Market Hall was built on September 16th 1965, replacing a Victorian market that was deemed unhygienic and no longer suitable for its intended purpose. Notably, in 2018, 2023, and 2024, Shrewsbury Market Hall was bestowed with the prestigious title of “Britain’s Favorite Market” in the Great British Market Awards. A title Shrewsbury is very proud of.

The Market Hall serves as a hub for a vibrant community of creative and skilled artisans, makers, and artists. These individuals have been provided with a platform to showcase their talents and share their gifts with the public.
