Shrewsbury folk festival
Shrewsbury folk festival is held in Shrewsbury West Midlands Showground, usually over August bank holiday weekend. The festival showcases a range of folk talent from across the world, recently gaining international recognition. Here you can see examples of traditional and contemporary folk with North American and Canadian artists along with other world music. The folk festival creates a very inclusive environment where music lovers can listen to new artists as well as some of their favourites all whist sharing it with their friends and families.
The Folk Festival is also known for its community atmosphere and being a gathering of likeminded people. It features multiple different stages across the site and many different activities so there is always something for everyone. These activities cater to all ages, making the festival a very family-friendly event. Kids can enjoy programs that introduce them to folk music and dance as well as a range of other activities, while adults can take part in hands-on workshops or simply enjoy the performances.
Food and drink is also a large part of the festival with a variety of food stalls sharing cuisines from across the world as well as catering for every dietary requirement. There will also be an artisan shopping area where vendors can show there talents and share them with everyone, some also host workshops where you can take part and learn how to make various different things.
